About Cosmos

Sustainability

COSMOS believes that long-term competitiveness in precision investment casting depends as much on environmental performance, social responsibility and ethical conduct as on dimensional accuracy and metallurgical quality. Sustainability is therefore not a parallel activity at COSMOS – it is woven into how we plan capacity, source materials, run our furnaces, look after our people, and engage with the community around us.

Our approach is built on four operating principles: measure every material impact, decarbonise the energy base, close the loop on water and waste, and operate consistently within regulatory limits. This philosophy is anchored in an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework aligned with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, the GHG Protocol, ISO 14064-1:2018 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Environmental Stewardship

We measure every material environmental impact at our facility energy, emissions, water, waste, materials, and air quality and report it transparently each year. All figures are drawn from internal monitoring and verified third-party laboratory testing, giving our customers, financiers and regulators a credible, evidence-based view of our environmental performance.

Renewable Energy

COSMOS has commissioned a 1 MW captive ground-mounted solar power plant at Kolki, Upleta, supplying clean electricity to the Hadamtala manufacturing facility under a captive wheeling arrangement. In its first year of operation, the plant delivered 356.48 MWh of renewable electricity, about 15.6% of our total electricity consumption, and avoided an estimated 253 tonnes of CO₂-equivalent emissions. We are working to scale renewable supply to cover at least 50% of total electricity demand by FY 2029-30.

Water Stewardship

We operate a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) regime. Every drop of process effluent is treated through a multi-stage Effluent Treatment Plant with a tertiary Activated Carbon Filter, and the recovered water is reused for green-belt irrigation within the facility. No untreated effluent is discharged to the environment.

Waste & Circularity

Each of our fourteen identified waste streams is segregated at source. Hazardous residues are routed exclusively through Gujarat Pollution Control Board-authorised Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facilities (TSDF), and process by-products such as melting slag, used ceramic shell and shot-blasting fines are channelled to circular pathways wherever technically feasible.

Climate Action

We quantify our annual greenhouse gas emissions under Scope 1 and Scope 2 in conformance with ISO 14064-1:2018 and the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard. Our emission intensity (tCO₂e per tonne of cast product) has reduced by approximately 5.5% over the comparative baseline year, driven by the captive solar plant and tighter LPG management in our foundry operations.

Occupational Health & Safety

The safety of every person who enters our facility is non-negotiable. Our Occupational Health and Safety Management System covers 100% of our direct workforce and governs hazard identification, risk assessment, training, and incident investigation across every foundry process: pattern making, shell building, melting, dewaxing, fettling, and inspection. We are proud to report zero fatalities and zero lost-time injuries in the reporting period.

People & Training

Our 98-strong workforce is the engine of our business. We invest deliberately in their development, averaging 20 training hours per employee per year across nine themes spanning technical skills, safety, environment, business ethics and communication. 100% of our employees have received training on business ethics, environmental management and health & safety.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

COSMOS has built a workplace that is open to every qualified person regardless of gender or social background. Women represent 17.35% of our overall workforce and 33.3% of our top management. We are fully compliant with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act 2013, and have recorded zero substantiated cases of discrimination or harassment.

Human Rights

We do not employ child labour, forced labour or bonded labour in any form, and we extend the same expectation to every supplier and contractor in our value chain. We respect freedom of association, the right to fair wages, dignified working conditions, and the rights of vulnerable groups, including migrant workers, persons with disabilities, and contractor personnel engaged at our site.

Community Engagement

COSMOS contributes to the social and economic development of the communities surrounding our Hadamtala manufacturing site and Kolki solar site through a structured Corporate Social Responsibility programme covering education, healthcare, skill development, environmental conservation and women’s empowerment.

Business Ethics & Governance

We operate with zero tolerance for corruption, fraud, anti-competitive conduct and unethical behaviour. Our governance architecture extends from the Board of Directors to the shop floor, supported by a comprehensive policy framework, an independent whistle-blower mechanism, and mandatory annual ethics training for every employee. We closed FY 2025-26 with zero confirmed cases of corruption, zero personal-data breaches and zero significant regulatory fines.

Information Security & Data Privacy

We safeguard the customer drawings, technical specifications and personal data entrusted to us through layered information security controls, access management protocols and an Information Security Policy that is reviewed annually. Formal certification to ISO 27001 is under evaluation as a medium-term objective.

Stakeholder Engagement

We engage continuously and transparently with our employees, customers, suppliers, financiers, regulators, local community and the wider public. Their expectations and concerns are captured through structured channels and used to refine our sustainability priorities each year.

Sustainability Targets

We have set time-bound short, medium and long-term targets across every material area energy, emissions, water, waste, safety, training, diversity, supplier engagement and assurance so that our progress can be tracked, audited and held accountable year after year.

Download Our Sustainability Report

Our inaugural ESG Report FY 2025-26 presents a complete account of our environmental, social and governance performance, prepared with reference to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, the GHG Protocol and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The Report covers our manufacturing facility at Hadamtala and our captive solar plant at Kolki, and discloses verified data across energy, emissions, water, waste, workforce, safety, community and ethics.
